What is ArcIMS?

What is AcrIMS? ArcIMS is an ESRI server technology that allows for the distribution of spatial data created in their ArcGIS suite of products. See http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/arcims/index.html for more information about ArcIMS.

Adding an ArcIMS Server to Dapple

  1. To add a new ArcIMS server you need the URL for the server. For example, "http://www.geographynetwork.com/servlet/com.esri.esrimap.Esrimap"
  2. In Dapple on the File menu, click Add ArcIMS Server. The Add an ArcIMS Server dialog is displayed.
  3. Enter the server URL in the text box provided and click [OK]. Dapple will contact the server and retrieve a list of its image services.
  4. Select an image service of interest to see the list of available layers on that service.
